Statement of intent.

For my billboards, I will make sure that they align with the rules set about the ASA. For example, I will ensure that my billboards do not contain any content that could promote or depict anti-social behaviour, violence, offence or distress to any viewers- achieved by not showing or depicted alcohol, drugs and/or violence; this is especially important as my billboards will be located in towns and city centres, therefore, not all the viewers will be apart of the target audience and could potentially be children, so they need to be appropriate in case they are seen by children, because if not this could cause serious distress. However, because of the clientele I am planning to air my documentary after watershed, this way I am able discuss mature content as I am planning to centre my documentary around Britain’s most infamous disappearances.

For my documentary to be successful with my target audience, it must be portrayed positively, therefore they will be interested in watching it. I intend on telling the stories of infamous disappearances through reinactments and interviews from the real cases, and representing those involved in the cases e.g., the suspects, police officers, detectives and family and friends of the victims. I will present the friends and family as quite upset due to the tragic event, but they will also have a slight smile as they share fond memories of the missing person; I will present all detectives and law enforcement as serious but smiling as they will be featured the most in the documentary, but I would like to portray them positively so the documentary can also be used to bring back confidence within the legal system. For the suspects they will be depicted with a somewhat stern, upset demeanour with a scowling facial expression, which will also intrigue my target audience as they should be interested in watching to make their own opinion on who is guilty. The suspects I use will appear to be from different upbringings to prevent any stereotyping which could cause controversy.
